#1965: Slip-Over, One-Piece Frock Documented to 1926

The Vintage Revivals patterns are only one size; the original size. The pattern envelope, instructions and pattern pieces are unedited. The older the pattern the more likely it is to have limited instructions. The patterns are printed on blue line paper and packaged in plastic.


 

#1965: Slip-Over, One-Piece Frock Documented to 1926

Size: 37” bust, 39” hip, 14-1/4” width across back, finished front length below natural waistline 28”, 2 Yds. lower edge.

The pattern is described on page 82 of the 1926 Butterick pattern catalog as, “A Bustle Bow and Fantail Hemline. Slip-Over Frock, Closed at Left Underarm, with Ruffled Straight Gathered Skirt Attached to Basque. The best materials are [silk] taffeta, radium [rayon taffeta], Georgette, starched chiffon, organdie, silk voile, moiré. Flowers of Ribbon in Harmonizing Color. Leaves of Green Ribbon.”

Complete printed instructions are by the “New Butterick Pattern Including Deltor and Instructions for Making Flowers.” The pattern contains fourteen pieces.

Materials required of 36” wide fabric with nap: With or without short puffed sleeves 6-3/8 Yds., or upper part, skirt and bow 3-1/4 Yds. and over-skirt of 72” tulle 7/8 Yd.
