#3573: Button-front Dress with Pleated Skirt: Dated 1940

The Vintage Revivals patterns are only one size; the original size. The pattern envelope, instructions and pattern pieces are unedited. The older the pattern the more likely it is to have limited instructions. The patterns are printed on blue line paper and packaged in plastic.


 

Pattern #3573

Size: 38" bust, 32" waist, 41" hips.

This pattern was published by The Simplicity Pattern Company. It was originally described as "Misses' Dress: Pleated skirt is joined to blouse at natural waistline. Blouse is gathered front and back to one-piece yoke; fronts are faced and rolled with the collar to form revers. Sleeves may be short, with pleated lower edge, or long and fitted. Pleated patch pocket optional. Straight buckled belt or three-piece girdle finished with tie belts." Detailed illustrated directions. Pattern dated 1940.

Suggested fabrics: Linen, sharkskin, shantung, cotton prints, novelty cottons, jersey, wool crepe, and gaberdine. The colors were navy blue, medium brown, laurel green, gold, norse blue, and henna rust.

Materials required: 4-3/4 Yds. 36" fabric.
