Saundra Ros Altman's: Past Patterns

The Vintage Revivals patterns are only one size; the original size. The pattern envelope, instructions and pattern pieces are unedited. The older the pattern the more likely it is to have limited instructions. The patterns are printed on blue line paper and packaged in plastic.

Size: 34" bust, 37" hips.

This pattern was published by The New York Pattern Company. Originally the pattern was described as "Dress for evening, graduation, weddings. High neck with slashed opening at back of neck, attached collar in two sections; perforated for sweetheart neck. Short sleeves, long sleeves perforated for 3/4 sleeves. Attached two-piece gathered skirt perforated for shorter-length and trimming band. " Illustrated directions. Pattern dates circa 1942.

Suggested fabrics: Evening dresses were made of rayon crepe, printed crepes, faille, alpaca, jersey, satin, net, novelty crepes, bengaline, matelasse, and novelty cottons. The colors were white, black, bright red, light blue, rose pink, wine, royal blue, and light aqua.
